Hibberts LLP Provides Honorary Solicitor for the Nantwich Agricultural Society

Hibberts LLP is delighted to announce that Oliver Lewis, a Partner in the Agricultural Department, has taken on the prestigious role of Honorary Solicitor for the Nantwich Agricultural Society. His appointment continues the legacy of the late David Young, a former partner at Hibberts LLP, who served the Society with great dedication for many years.

The Nantwich Show, the flagship event of the Nantwich Agricultural Society, is a highlight of the agricultural calendar in Cheshire, drawing farmers, exhibitors, and visitors from across the region. As the Honorary Solicitor, Oliver Lewis plays a pivotal role in ensuring the legal obligations this event and other society activities are met. This involves:

  • Serving on the Executive Committee: Participating in high-level decision-making and offering strategic legal insights.
  • Providing Legal Advice: Offering expert legal guidance to the directors of the Nantwich      Agricultural Society as required.
  • Finalising Agreements: including the agreement for the Nantwich Show, ensuring all legal aspects are meticulously handled to facilitate a successful event.
  • Supporting the Agricultural Community: Leveraging a robust client base in the North Shropshire/South Cheshire area to support local farming communities and enhance the quality of events organised by the society.

Oliver Lewis, who has been at Hibberts for over six years, and a partner for more than a year, expressed enthusiasm for the new role, stating, “Taking on the position of Honorary Solicitor is both a privilege and a responsibility. Following in David Young’s footsteps, I am committed to continuing his legacy of dedicated service to the Nantwich Agricultural Society. Hibberts’ collaboration with the Nantwich Agricultural Society spans many years, underscoring the firm’s dedication to supporting local agricultural events and initiatives. Hibberts will continue its participation in the Nantwich Show with a marquee this July, highlighting an ongoing commitment to serving the local agricultural community.

Oliver qualified as a solicitor in December 2017, and has been working in our agricultural department ever since. Oliver obtained an undergraduate degree from Lancaster University and then went on to complete the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Birmingham.Oliver, brought up on an arable farm in Shropshire, has a keen interest in farming and agricultural policy and completed his training with the National Farmers’ Union. Oliver has a strong understanding of the farming industry and wants to further develop his skillset in property law. Oliver has quickly gained experience in this area, successfully advising clients on a range on agricultural property transactions.In his spare time, Oliver likes to help out on the family farm, play rugby and socialise with friends.
